In this season of Thanksgiving, Shearwater Health wants to acknowledge all the ways we’re grateful this year in 2023. Each year is unique, and our business is met with opportunities, challenges, changes, and everything in between. While obstacles have been a part of this year, Shearwater Health has succeeded in many ways, which excites us for continued growth in the new year.
Philanthropy
This October, Shearwater Health had the opportunity to partner with Cigna for the Light the Night fundraising event for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Light the Night is about gathering as a community to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by blood cancers and raising funds for research and support for those affected. Shearwater Health was honored to participate and have our employees attend the walk. Shelby Bratcher, one of our Client Service Specialists, could attend, “Light the Night was an event to remember in more ways than one! Not only was it an enjoyable experience shared with the Nashville community, but it was also an important reminder of those who are facing unseen battles every day. We were given different color lanterns according to our roles as supporters, individuals diagnosed with Leukemia/lymphoma, or in remembrance of someone. Together, all those lanterns lit up First Horizon Park to ‘bring light to Cancer. As an employee of a healthcare company, events like Light the Night are meaningful reminders of why our mission is so vital and impactful. As we continue to improve healthcare outcomes globally, we also take one more step toward a healthier society.”
In addition to Light the Night, we donated children’s books to the Nashville Library and will volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank in December to help serve our local community. Being part of events and organizations like these is meaningful and provides purpose in our work, and we are thankful for the opportunities.
Community
We’re also grateful for our Nashville community and the way it came together this year in the wake of the Covenant school tragedy. The Covenant School is in our Nashville office’s neighborhood, and seeing support extended to the students, staff, families, and all who were affected was moving. Shearwater Health organized efforts to aid the school, and it was a humbling experience to do so.
Teamwork
Lastly, we are thankful for each and every one of our employees whose contributions and hard work have made for a successful year at Shearwater Health! We’ve had many new members join our team, and we are thankful for the collaboration and creativity that has driven many achievements. From trips to the Philippines to hosting Nest Week at our Nashville office, it’s great to have opportunities to come together. It’s rewarding to see progress and exciting to watch the continued growth of our employees and Shearwater Health as a whole.
Shearwater Health wishes you a Happy Thanksgiving!
