We are pleased to announce that Shearwater’s HR and Recruitment teams, led by Jenina Borlaza and Josefina Cruz, CHRP, for being awarded the Talento Award for Excellence in HR and Recruitment at the 2022 HIMAP Conference.
The Talento Award for Excellence in HR & Recruitment recognizes innovative or unique recruitment strategies that increase healthcare workers’ hiring, leading to a high retention and low attrition rates. Additionally, this unique HR program and strategy must significantly impact business growth in terms of revenue and FTE count, measured based on the past two years. A few of the initiatives that we’ve launched that played a part in achieving this award are below:
- Shearwater Scholars Program – We provide scholarships to nursing students who desire to eventually practice nursing in the US; in exchange, the Filipino nurses commit to practicing nursing at one of our hospital partners in the Philippines post-graduation.
- USRN and Coding Academy – We shoulder all expenses for employees that desire to pursue advanced certifications and licensures.
- Nurse Compass Program – We invest in US Visa sponsorship for employees that have a goal of practicing bedside or CPO nursing positions in the US.
