To support continued strong demand from the healthcare markets we serve to expand the size and impact of clinical teams, we are thrilled to announce two new additions to the Shearwater Health leadership team, Kari Delahunty, President of Pharma and Life Sciences, and Todd Silmon, President of Payer Services. Both Silmon and Delahunty bring extensive healthcare leadership experience that they will utilize to build on the current growth of the company.
As President of Pharma and Life Sciences services, Delahunty will lead the strategy and overall delivery of our services for pharmaceutical and life sciences partners. Delahunty is focused on bringing streamlined solutions to clinical research and development to improve health outcomes for patients. She brings over 17 years of pharmaceutical and life sciences experience from a variety of areas in the industry, including pharmaceutical manufacturing and pharmaceutical development/commercialization.
Most recently, Delahunty served as the Senior VP, Corporate Strategy for Syneos Health, where she was responsible for strategic planning and development as well as driving business initiatives in support of the only fully integrated end-to-end clinical and commercial organization. Additional areas of responsibility included oversight of the proprietary, metrics-driven Trusted Process®, developing a change management and process optimization capability, as well as various roles in operational delivery and integration. Delahunty earned a B.S. in Biological Engineering and an MBA from North Carolina State University.
As President of Payer Services, Silmon will lead the strategy and overall delivery of our services for health plans and health plan partners. He has over 20 years of leadership experience in various delivery models including premise-based, telecommuter, and international outsourcing.
Previously, Silmon served as Sr. VP, Operations at HealthHelp, a Specialty Benefits Management (SBM) partner focused on Utilization Management, where he was instrumental in developing strategies to drive best-in-class service to members, providers, and payers. Additional areas of responsibility included Network Relations, Project Management Office (PMO), and Payer Implementations. Silmon also spent several years with Thermo Fisher Scientific in various leadership roles focused on cost-conscious best practices, increased productivity, and workforce management. He earned a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies degree from the University of Houston-Downtown.
Delahunty and Silmon will help Shearwater’s clients meet their goal to provide quality healthcare outcomes through deeper integration with our clinical services that will result in increased cost savings and program expansion.
