When an innovative biotech company needed support on its high-volume project,

remote cardiac monitoring team by performing abstractions, interpretations, and
audits of ECG rhythms.
Background
A biotech company approached Shearwater’s life sciences team for support
in patient monitoring of wearable sensor data capturing cardiac arrhythmias
(both critical and non-critical). This technology provides physicians with critical
insights to help diagnose patients threatened by cardiac arrhythmia.
The Solution
Shearwater:

Outcomes
As a result of meeting the company’s need to scale quickly and increase capacity,
Shearwater supported the unique requirements of three projects (holter monitor
for adult and pediatric events, data science in ECG rhythm annotation, and stable
events) with ~70 resources, including Philippines registered nurses (PHRNs) and
data scientists (certified cardiographic technicians). These resources demonstrated
critical thinking to provide analysis of aggregated data to look for trends in critical
cardiac events and validate AI accuracy in rhythm interpretations for clinical decision
support. Shearwater exceeded all quality measures by ~10% and has managed
exponential increases in volume in each of the three programs year over year by
as much as fourteen times.
With Shearwater’s responsiveness, availability of skills, accuracy, and quality, we continue to receive additional work and responsibilities from the biotech company.
Conclusion
